My Life in Words and Pictures
Originally from Denmark in Northern Europe, I moved to China in the summer of 2010 to become a teacher and to do something exciting with my life. I was 21 years old at the time, I had just finished my Computer Science Bachelor’s Degree at the Aalborg University in Denmark. My initial plan was just to stay in China for a few years, but 4 years on, I am still here and I love it!
I finished my teaching certificate in January 2011 and immediately went to Luoyang to work as a foreign teacher. I worked there for almost 2½ years before I moved to my current location in Chongqing. I like it here, the scenery, the people, the language, the culture and the history. Sure, I miss home sometimes, but I genuinely think this was the best decision I made for me.
Apart from teaching I do a lot of writing and I am also a very avid hobby photographer. I am setting up this website as a means to share everything I do with you, and the rest of the world. I hope you would like to follow me around! You are most welcome to do so!
I live in China, and I think I will be for many years to come. China is an exciting country full of mystery and challenge and I have come to really like being here. Friends make this place worth living and seeing how a city can develop in just a few years is truly amazing. I don’t want to leave.
Teaching in China
Teaching in China has, for me, been the single most rewarding experience ever. Teaching can be tough, hard, mean and draining but most of the time, it is incredibly fulfilling and satisfying. Once you start to get to know your students and they come and talk to you just because they want to, it is definitely something else.
Living in China has been a great inspiration for my photography. While I do not go out as much as I would like, when I do I am very devoted and passionate about it. I try to find time for my photography as often as possible, sometimes at the expense of important things like playing computer games and watching TV!
